Chris Collinsworth and I have a lot in common.
This is my second post referencing Chris Collinsworth and NBC's horrible Sunday Night Football coverage, but I just came to a realization about him and I thought I should share it through this web log phenomenon. Chris Collinsworth hates his job. I can see it, and I know it, because I'm in the same situation. I had previously linked to him laughing through NBC's Green Week experiment, but in a thirty second span tonight where he called out Keith Olbermann for a weak Oh Brother Where Art Thou? reference and questioned Bob Costas' use of the word "esoteric" in a football broadcast, I realized he was just going through the motions. Chris Collinsworth is quitting NBC's Sunday Night Football, he just hasn't told anyone yet. From my experience he's probably spending his days off looking for job openings, applying for things he really isn't even interested in, and making plans for what he'll do with his now-free Sunday nights. He might even have a day planner with the phrase "turn in two week's notice" marked on a certain day. Chris Collinsworth is a great broadcaster, and he deserves better. I just hope (for both our sake's) that it works out for him. Stay strong brother, don't let the man get you down.

man, you hit it right on the nose with the whole job hunting thing, i was contemplating writing a post about that very topic, maybe i still will. it sucks spending every day off looking for a new job...hang in there, it'll all work out, it always does.
I used to complain to my brother every day on my lunch break about how much I hated my last job. Work sucks.
