Day 5 -- the burden of the beard

I've been having some trouble waking up the last few mornings. I think part of the problem is the amount of energy I'm diverting toward winning this beard off. You know, those hours spent looking in the mirror and rubbing my chin start to add up. In light of my need for more rest, I've decided to try to ignore my budding beard for a while.

My new strategy is to study more Constitutional Law. My Con Law prof has a glorious beard and I'd imagine he spends a lot of time studying our country's greatest document. That might amp up the fatigue factor, but I'm prepared to deal with it. The sweet nectar of victory that awaits me next week -- Cole's got about three days left in him from my estimations -- is worth weeks of unrest. When I crawl into bed on the eve of my victory, I will sleep like a baby for days and days. In the meantime, I'm going to heed the advice of a former boss: "Hey, no sleep for the wicked."
