I don't really have anything substantial to write about, but I've got a few things on my mind.
First of all, congrats to the University of North Dakota hockey team, which is on a nice little six-game winning streak right now. I don't want to get ahead of myself here, but this could be a sign of some big things to come. Sioux yeah yeah! Check out the Sioux hockey blog for regular updates. My former colleague (who was way more experienced than I was) Brad Schlossman of the Grand Forks Herald does an excellent job with the blog.
Moving on, I had a mock interview for a fake clerking position with a city attorney today. I'm left wondering: Is a mock interview worth the effort? I think so. Although I'm sure some of my law school classmates would disagree, I think it was a good overall experience ... even if the guy's last words were "John, I like your resume and you seem like a good guy, but I'm going to shoot you straight ... this job doesn't exist." Has anyone else done a mock interview? Was it worth it?
Lastly, this Heath Ledger thing is kind of weird. CNN.com had this strange story reliving phone calls placed between his masseuse and Mary-Kate Olsen. Personally, I'm not really interested in the exact details surrounding Ledger's death. It's a tragedy, yes, but it is a little invasive on the part of the media to publish stories like this. There's a time and a place for the media to play the watchdog role and this isn't it.
That's all I've got. Peace y'all.
