This whole Randy Moss thing is interesting. One thing that I don't think has been made very clear by the media involves what a battery is. In a civil action, a battery is defined as any kind of intentional harmful or offensive contact with another. If Moss is to be found guilty, he would have had to intentionally harm this woman or come into contact with her in a way that offends a reasonable sense of personal dignity. No criminal charges (that I'm aware of) have been filed in this mess, so it doesn't sound like Moss beat the woman. His lawyer said the injury resulted from consensual horseplay. At this point, I think the woman's complaint sounds kind of sketchy, especially given the fact that she suffered mental harm as well.
Any thoughts?
